Pro-Life Resources

Catholic Pro-Life Resources

Catholic Teaching maintains a belief in the dignity of the human person from conception until natural death. According to the USCCB page on being pro-life,

"We proclaim that human life is a precious gift from God; that each person who receives this gift has responsibilities toward God, self and others; and that society, through its laws and social institutions, must protect and nurture human life at every stage of its existence."

On this page, you will find resources related to what being pro-life means in all aspects of life. Some of these resources come from us and others are outside resources that will help explain why Catholics are pro-life such as Evangelium Vitae. We will continue to update this page with resources and statements related to being pro-life.

Evangelium Vitae is a papal encyclical promulgated on March 25, 1995 by Pope Saint John Paul II. It deals with issues pertaining to the sanctity of human life including murder, abortion, euthanasia and capital punishment.

Beginning with an overview of threats to life both past and present, this encyclical interprets many Scriptural passages related to life issues and analyzes them in the context of being pro-life.
