" It has been 50 years since we first put a man on the moon. I am old enough to remember sitting with my family that hot July day as the first black and white grainy pictures were televised. We were awed by the possibility. My Nano on the other hand refused to believe this was real. It was all a Hollywood hoax. Recorded on a movieset. She never changed her mind and would just tell us we were being silly it’s impossible for a man to walk on the moon.

How often do people tell us this or that is not possible. You can't fix poverty, can’t control violence, cure adieses, change a situation and on and on it goes with the list getting longer and longer. Yet, we have so many examples that nothing is truly impossible. President Kennedychallenged NASA “We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they areeasy, but because they are hard”.

Failure often brought improvement, even whenthings didn’t work out on the ground or in space. Maybe, this is why things got done. No one assumed they couldn’t do something, even if they couldn’t. The NASA teamsnever knew they couldn’t go to the moon, they just knew they had to try.

If we don’t try to resolve the problems we face even if we initially fail we will never improve the worldaround us. We will never sore."

Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right.
