Fundacion Latidos de Amor

(Heartbeats of Love Foundation)

Our administrative assistant, Ana Chavez, is once again this year sponsoring a collection for the needy children of the Dominican Republic, where she and her husband Juan, who run the Heartbeats of Love Foundation, travel each year with donations from all over the city of Boston. This year their collection is for new backpacks and school supplies. The Foundation is asking for new backpacks filled with notebooks, pencils, erasers, crayons, pencil sharpeners and rulers, so that the kids are ready to go when the school year starts. The goal is to collect 3,000 backpacks. Backpacks and/or supplies for the backpacks may be dropped off at the Collaborative Center from 9:00 - 3:00 weekdays until August 25th. Thank you in advance.

Fundacion Latidos de Amor (Heartbeats of Love Foundation), is a registered non-profit organization established to raise the quality of life for poor and homeless children in the Dominican Republic (Facebook page: Fundacion Latidos De Amor).

The Foundation was started and is run by Ana & Juan, who collect a different item each year, send them to the Dominican Republic in August, and then physically go to the Dominican Republic in September where they individually distribute the items to soup kitchens, makeshift schools and neighborhood meeting places.

In 2015 Heartbeats of Love collected 5,000 books and in 2016 the collection was for children's shoes (many kids have never owned a pair of shoes and walk barefoot with bloody and blistered feet). Thank you to all the Blue Hills Collaborative parishioners who have supported Ana and Juan in their efforts. You inspire us!
